Makeup mistakes I made as a beginner
Hello my beautiful students,
It’s your glam coach, Ella Karien π✨
Today I want to share something very real with you — not a tutorial, but a few makeup mistakes I made as a beginner so that you won’t repeat them.
We all start somewhere, and I used to think I needed to be perfect. But guess what? My biggest growth came from my silliest mistakes! So grab a drink and enjoy this little gist:
❌ Mistake 1: Using Too Much Powder
I used to bake my whole face like meat pie π
What I didn’t know was that too much powder can make your face cakey and dry — especially under the eyes!
What I learned: Just a little setting powder is enough. Press, don’t drag!
❌ Mistake 2: Drawing Brows Too Dark
I once used a black pencil to draw thick brows that looked like angry birds π
What I learned: Always use brown or dark brown, and blend out the front with a spoolie for ombrΓ© effect.
❌ Mistake 3: Buying Everything Without Knowing My Skin Type
I wasted money buying products that made me oily or gave me breakouts.
What I learned: Know your skin first! If you have oily skin, matte foundation like Zaron or Zikel works well. If you’re dry, go for something hydrating.
❌ Mistake 4: Not Using Primer
I used to apply foundation directly on my face without prepping my skin. Big mistake! My makeup would melt off quickly.
What I learned: A good primer like Zikel’s or Nuban’s makes your makeup last and look smoother.
π‘ Final Lesson:
Mistakes are part of the journey. Don’t rush the process. Every glam queen was once a beginner.
I’m here to make your journey easier, and I’m proud of how far you’ve come. If I can glow today, you can too π
Can u relate ?
